This website client was having difficulty finding images to illustrate their message. A message about where ideas come from and about the people they most wanted to reach. Sometimes the photograph needed is actually impossible to take – lighted light bulbs do not float out of windows! The only way to communicate such an idea is to either commission a creative, whether an illustrator to draw/paint the visual or a PhotoShop expert to combine several photographs into one illustrative photo collage.

Process:

One of the images the client sent was of a light bulb – the usual stock image. It did not capture the imagination nor rich vibrant, yet everyday source of the ideas the light bulb represented, and the client wanted to cater for. This is often, perhaps surprisingly, the case with stock photos. This freelancer sourced the urban street scene and set to work combining them, adjusting tones, suggesting magic, hinting at movement, aiming at a particular style and using the brands colours to help do so.
