Online retailer presents neat, professional shop front

This client was highly satisfied with their websites existing "look n feel", but nevertheless, they wanted to add more features to their home page, including additional navigation at the top of the page, a random product display and a reorganized footer (The last two can be compared below).

When visitors arrive at a website, they want to quickly understand how it is organized. There was a danger this home page would become confusing with everything presented in the same way – that is: on a white background without any embellishment.

In the new design, for example, the navigation on the left can be 'made sense of' quicker than before, because its sections are instantly clear. Your eye can quickly scan down the list, instantly determining where you need to click to see what you want to.

Effective, good 'design' is not always 'showy' or 'obvious'.
